Then I went back to my room.
Felt good.
A loud noise woke me.
There'd been a murder.
The old man was dead.
The captain asked me to investigate.
I questioned everyone.
Again, it looked like they were all acting.
I didn't like it.
Except her.
She showed real interest in the case.
Reminded me of my younger self.
I felt a little better.
Their belongings were found at the crime scene.
They were incredibly careless.
I didn't like it.

They all have alibis.
They're covering for each other.

Total amateurs.
Overwhelming evidence. Clumsy alibis.
How thoughtful of them.

I acted like a movie detective.
I pressed them. They confessed.
It was a brilliant performance.
I should've been an actor.
They confessed their motive.
The old man was truly evil.
They cried.
I could feel their pain.
He kidnapped and murdered a young girl.
Many others died because of him as well.
But he tampered with the evidence and walked free.
Then he disappeared, hiding his identity.
Now he lives in wealth and comfort.
He was a man who deserved to die.
But the law failed to judge him.
So they judged him themselves.
It was a tragic story.
A case that makes you question justice.
I chose to turn a blind eye to their crime.
Now, the choice is hers.
